THE TIME TRAVELLER

I was in church on Sunday, during the service prayers were rendered for pregnant women, hearing that I relapsed into a state of mental trance; I began to imagine the whole process of being pregnant, all the raging hormones and drama involved. The bitchiness, the weakness, the sluggishness, the crankiness, the oversensitive irritation.   The thought of a new life growing inside me, the new responsibility and most especially the burden I will have to carry for nine months. As I joggle this thought, another slips into my mind, more subtle more discreet but far more frightening. The thought of delivering the package, of expelling the new life into life. Yes, THE LABOR! I have often heard that the worst pain a woman can ever experience is the labour pain. As I continue on the thought of the moaning, groaning, screaming and scratching as a result of the labour pain, yet another thought jumps in and I ask myself, don’t you think you are forgetting something?, before the pregnancy ...

There was a time when we were born, comments like: “he is so adorable” “she is so cute” “she takes after her mother” fly around; but time passes by when you begin to grow from childhood to adulthood and in between these two stages of life there are series of struggles, experiences and a lot of lesson to be learnt in order to shape your adulthood.  While nature has its detailed and well organised through this journey, a lot of mankind scream and scramble at nature for the curse of having to grow up, to take up responsibilities and to have to face the consequences of our actions, either good or bad.   Generations have come and gone, mankind cycle the earth, but the only constant thing is nature itself. it has been going on for generations since the begining of time. It has been written as books, has been sung in songs. It is none other than the age long battle between the sexes. Jordan Sparks sang that love is a battlefield, this song might sound abstract until you go through it. It is the fiercest of all battles, who is better?, who is more important?. Despite all of this we find each other a 'necesary evil'.the universe itself is trying to find a balance between 'men-power' and 'women-power'. The rules of the battle have been passed down from one generation to the next, mothers pass it down to their daughters, fathers pass it to their sons. Although there is a gray area between the sexes where compromises take place, the fact still stands, the heat of this battle does not die down instead it burns faster as time and generation pass by. Lets face it this is one battle that does not end and doesn't have a winner. So i will just say 'LET THE BATTLE CONTINUE, bring it on'...
